William Charles Porter, as remembered by the daughter in law he sadly never met

William Charles Porter and his family came to live on Marple Road, Charlesworth during the early days of the 2nd World War, to avoid the blitz in Manchester.

I remember the Porter family, including William,  arriving at Saint John’s School to be enrolled and registered.

Soon he returned to the war whilst his wife and family stayed in Charlesworth.

He was reported missing in action and never returned.
